…aaaaand I’m back!
After a strenuous 13 hour flight with an aisle seat, where the people sitting next to me constantly had to go to the washroom and a mysterious liquid kept dripping on me from the overhead compartments, I’m back! I was greeted in Canada by allergy season, and as I am writing this my nose is running and my eyes are unfortunately red and puffy. It’s 5:30 am, and jet lag is beginning to take its toll. So what better way to spend my time than with you guys? :3
Where do I begin, Shanghai is an amazing city. It’s a city of contrasts, that’s for sure. On the street, you’ll see an old man in pajamas next to a stunning beauty in sky-high Louboutins. I squeezed myself somewhere in between. I went a little crazy in terms of shopping, and in the end I had to buy another backpack to squeeze my new shoes and belts into (don’t judge me). My cousins were all so lovely to me, and I’m glad to say we got along really well. After I left them at customs at the airport, I even started to cry a little. Huh, imagine that. When I think back to all the amazing places I visited and did, a little part of me just wants to jump on a plane and go back. But here in my room, by myself at this ungodly hour, I honestly believe that there is no place like home. Shanghai, I love you. But Canada, I love you more :)

Perhaps the food I will miss the most here in Canada. Best soup dumplings EVER.

Sitting at a restaurant on the river of an old village we visited. The water may look beautiful, but it was rancid.

The Bund at night. Goodnight Shanghai!
